Legends Awakened: A Colossal Expansion for Diamond & Pearl
The summer of 2008 brought the massive Diamond & Pearl—Legends Awakened expansion, released on August 20. As one of the largest sets in history with over 140 cards, Diamond & Pearl—Legends Awakened lived up to its name by bringing the powerful Regigigas and Heatran to the forefront. This expansion was a dream for collectors and players alike, offering a deep pool of LV.X cards and completing the Unown alphabet run that had spanned the entire series. It also reintroduced Technical Machines (TMs) and Fossils, providing new tactical layers for deck construction.
Awaken the Power of Uxie and Mesprit
While the titans like Regigigas defined the packaging, the true power of Diamond & Pearl—Legends Awakened lay in the "Lake Guardians." Uxie’s "Set Up" Poké-Power became arguably the most important draw engine in the game's history, defining competitive play for years. The set also featured the devastating Mewtwo LV.X and a host of powerful dragons like Rayquaza and Dragonite. With its diverse card list and the introduction of game-defining support Pokémon, Diamond & Pearl—Legends Awakened remains one of the most impactful sets of the Diamond & Pearl era.
