The Masks of Ogerpon

Based on the "Teal Mask" DLC, Scarlet & Violet—Twilight Masquerade launched on May 24, 2024, bringing the layout of Kitakami to the TCG. The set's unique gimmick was "Ogerpon ex," which appeared in four different types based on its masks: Teal (Grass), Hearthflame (Fire), Wellspring (Water), and Cornerstone (Fighting). The "Teal Mask Ogerpon ex" became an instant staple in Grass decks due to its energy acceleration ability.

The Rise of Dragapult

While Ogerpon was the face of the set, "Dragapult ex" was the breakout competitive star. Its "Phantom Dive" attack, which dealt massive damage to the active Pokémon while spreading damage counters to the bench, instantly made it a top-tier contender. Collectors chased the "Greninja ex" Special Illustration Rare, featuring a unique, colorful art style that stood out from previous sets. Twilight Masquerade successfully translated the DLC's folk-tale atmosphere into a distinct and memorable TCG expansion.
