Reality Shifts in XY—Fates Collide

On May 2, 2016, the fabric of the Pokémon world was torn asunder with the release of XY—Fates Collide. This expansion focused on the legendary Zygarde in all its forms, alongside the Psychic powerhouse Alakazam. XY—Fates Collide continued the BREAK evolution trend with powerful cards like Lugia BREAK and Delphox BREAK. The set was thematically centered on the collision of two worlds, bringing back the "Restored Pokémon" mechanic with Omastar and Kabutops.

While Zygarde was the cover star, "Mega Alakazam-EX" stole the spotlight with its ability to manipulate damage counters, creating devastating combos with cards like Crobat.
