Celebrate 20 Years of Pokémon with Generations

To mark the franchise's platinum anniversary, the Pokémon TCG released Generations on February 22, 2016. This special expansion was a love letter to fans, featuring iconic Pokémon from the original Red & Blue era re-imagined with modern HP and attacks. Unlike standard sets, Generations packs were only available in special collections, making them a unique treat to open. The set also included the "Radiant Collection," a gorgeous 32-card subset featuring "PokéKyun" artwork that added a layer of cuteness and charm to the celebration.

Jolteon-EX and The Radiant Collection

While primarily a collector's set, Generations did introduce some competitive heavy hitters. "Jolteon-EX" with its "Flash Ray" attack became a powerful wall against Basic Pokémon, forcing opponents to evolve or switch strategies. "Mega Gardevoir-EX" from the Radiant Collection also saw play for its ability to discard opponent's benched Pokémon. However, the lasting legacy of Generations is its stunning full-art cards, particularly the "Sylveon-EX" and "Pikachu" from the Radiant Collection, which remain some of the most beautiful and collectible cards ever printed.
