Released on September 13, 2024, Scarlet & Violet—Stellar Crown deepened the lore of Area Zero by introducing "Stellar" Tera Pokémon ex. These cards, like the flagship "Terapagos ex," featured dazzling crystalline artwork and powerful "Stellar" attacks that required three different types of energy. Terapagos ex immediately found a home in decks that could ramp energy quickly, using its "Unified Beatdown" attack to punish opponents with full benches.

A Return to Kanto (Again)

While Terapagos was the competitive star, collectors once again turned their eyes to Kanto. The set continued the trend of adorable Illustration Rares with a new Bulbasaur and Squirtle, completing a starter trio that fans were eager to collect. "Hydrapple ex" and "Cinderace ex" also saw play, but the true legacy of Stellar Crown was its aesthetic shift, bringing a rainbow-colored, gemstone-inspired look to the Pokémon TCG that set it apart from everything that came before.
